Safety for Independent Living was created to help youth and adults with developmental disabilities feel safe in all their usual places: home, work, school, online and in the community. Through games, digital media, video and colorful graphics, this comprehensive 8-10 hour safety program empowers people with tools to make confident choices and live a safe life.
The Safety for Independent Living course aims to equip developmental youth and adults with life skills to make confident choices, to prevent potentially dangerous situations and to live a safe life. Safety for Independent Living is a comprehensive, in-class, 8-hour safety program that covers:
• People Safety
• Online Safety
• Road Safety
• Fire Safety
• Injury Prevention
• Basic First Aid
Participants each receive a full colour manual and wallet card of completion.

• Online safety

• Road safety
• Prevent, detect, escape
• Making a fire escape plan
• Emergency call
• Basic first aids

Duration: 1 Day Program – Timings can be adjusted to accommodate participants preference
Cost: $75.00 (HST included, service fees extra)
