What is Kerry’s Place?
Kerry’s Place Autism Services is a family-based non-profit, charitable organization. We are all about families, in all of their formations. Our roots go way back to 1974 when we were formed by a group of families who were tired of not having an appropriate place for their teenagers to learn and grow.
These families took matters into their hands to make sure that their children were given the opportunity to achieve their potential. The O’Neill family owned a farm in the small town of Clarksburg, Ontario and that’s where our founding families planted the seed that has blossomed into Kerry’s Place Autism Services.
What is Kerry’s Place Social Skills Groups?
Social Skills Groups are offered to children and youth diagnosed with ASD. The groups are held at Kerry’s Place Resource Centres and/or various locations within the local community. The purpose of Social Skills Groups is to foster learning and provide an opportunity for skills development. Groups allow social interactions, and can even cultivate friendships in a safe environment, free of judgement and criticism.
